Red Wings.......

12 years ago I was in seclusion following an abysmal Stanley Cup finals performance. A middle aged man named Lou, who hailed from Staten Island, was giving me "not so subtle" hints that I better start winning. That was all the motivation I needed to close shop and regroup. I will not make that same mistake and pick against the Red Wings like I did in '97. Tonights play: Detroit Red Wings.....Big Lou this ones for you!

Mea Culpa.....

This recent cold streak has perplexed me beyond belief. That being said, it wont last long. I am loading the Boat on the Cubs. I will ride these pigs until it finally works.

Bear Trap.........

After their 8 game losing 8 streak, I am jumping head first into shallow water and taking the Blue Jays. In fact Im loading the boat on this game. If they lose with Roy Halladay on the hill against the O's then they are a disgrace to baseball and should be shorted for the rest of this season. I usually hate being on this side of such a sucker bet but I dont care. As for other action I lean with the Over (9.5) in the Dodgers-Rockies game and think Serena Williams crushes her next round opponent (tomorrow) after a lackluster effort in the first round.

Thanks Mo..........

Shortly after my release I was given the worst news a gamer can possibly receive......A "role" player guaranteeing a Victory. Mo Williams felt the need to join the ranks of: Patrick Ewing, Mark Clayton, and a long list of others who have fallen down on these promises of guaranteeing a victory in big games. Difference being, Mo Williams is not enough of a factor to win a game. In fact he can only lose. This clown shot 5-15 from the field and made me look like an ass in the process. Not since the Iron Sheik beat Bob Backlund at wrestlemania to capture the inter continental belt 25yrs ago, have I been more shellshocked. Does this mean my rants regarding "the rigging of the NBA" are completely off base? Absolutely not. I am looking for the line on the series price right now. Some may view this as an act of desperation but until I actually see an NBA finals game being held in AMWAY arena while Nike is bombarding us with Lebron James commercials, I still like the Cavs. Take a flyer on the Cavs to win the series.

10 DIME PLAY.......

To avoid being a total hypocrite, tonights pick has to be the Cavs. Sure the "Script might be more dramatic" if Lebron takes a team down 3-1 and on the brink to an NBA finals but can the league really take that chance? A finals without Lebron James would be a PR mess and the leagues worst fear. More importantly it would also discredit my theory that this whole thing is a sham. Take the Cavs tonight +1/1.5. Also look at taking the Under on prop plays for totals on Dwight Howard. This guy has to be the least respected superstar in post season history. He picks up phantom fouls the minute he steps on the court. Tonight should be no different.

The pick is............

Orlando -1.5

Your Welcome.............

2 Winners in the bases today. With results like this do I really need to throw good $ after bad with the NBA when I could bet on Wrestlemania, which might be less predictable? Of course I do....Todays Pick is Bought to you by Jwhip (yes that Jwhip...Celebrity handicapper from Boston who has 2 dimes on today's game and wants to redeem himself for last week's stinkbomb!). For all you who have the audacity to question my gaming accumen I suggest you check out this guy. I wasnt the only guy who got stiffed by the Nuggets.

Propick 1-Brad Lidge 0.........

You may have thought Albert Pujols damaged this guy's psyche in 2006 after drilling a 500ft home run off him. That didn't happen but rest assured this guy will never be the same. Mock me all you want but Im the same guy that jinxed Armondo Benitez's career.
Last time Kobe was in Colorado this time of year he redefined "taking it hard to the hole". Through the legal process and a sh-tload of $ he avioded jail. This time around karma catches up with him (dont think there are prop bets on injuries but worth a flyer )...tonights Play the Nuggets.

Life Sucks.....Then you Die!

My 5 Dime play imploded. The hit batter theme worked only it happened with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th and it was the Padres who got hit by a pitch. Im not vindictive but I swear to God if I see David Eckstein in public I will kick his ass. That's right I am calling that little gnat out. This guy has been nothing short of a pain in the ass ever since he entered the league. I saw the movie "Rudy" and thought it was awful. I do not need to re-live that story everytime this guy comes up to bat. I am pissed off and you know what comes of this? A Big Memorial DayWinning Streak. Stick with me I am on a mission!

OTB......

For those of you with lazy do-nothing kids, I have the perfect solution on how to motivate them. No shrink, no time outs, no need for military school. Have these kids spend a few hours (preferably on a beautiful summer day) at your local OTB. As someone who has spent his fair share of time amongst these degenerates, even I was a little shaken up. That being said, no one admires their collective "passion for the ponies" more than I. After throwing up an 0 for the day I seeked the advice of a 50 something guy named Ronnie. Although he sticks to the horses, Ronnie also dabbles in the NBA. He had the Nuggets in game 1 (or so his says). However, tonight Ronnie LOVES the Lakers and here's why: 1) the Nuggets played the perfect game and still lost 2) LA's front line will show up tonight 3) Kenyon martin dislocated finger and JR Smith more banged up then people know about 4) If so many people are picking the Nuggets why is the line still -5.5 ? Ronnie thinks Vegas knows something that most dont. Tonights play Lakers -5.5.

5 Star Game of the Decade......

Tonights Play....5 Dimes on the San Francisco Giants. This is a real crackheads delight. Neither the Giants or the Padres have any offense so I am basically counting on the Padres to walk a batter, throw a wild pitch, and then commit a throwing error or give up an infield hit. That being said this is the type of game I have made a career out of winning.
Be back with NBA thoughts. Headed to OTB to get inside the "mind of the common man".

WTF.........

Whose idea was it to let the Knicks play with Lebron for the 2nd half? Shoot me!

Lottery Drama? I Got an Idea............

After watching last nights hour long borefest and manufactured "hype" over who is going to get the #1 pick in the draft, I finally came up with a better idea. You want people to tune in? You want real Ratings? Heres what you do. You take 13 random dopes from the worst teams and have a Live Paternity test. That my friends is a real lottery. Thats right 13 women will try to prove their case live on national television. Do you think any of these guys last night were crying over not getting the #1 pick? Doubt it. You want tears and panic attacks? Show me the guy who is now shelling out half of his $14mill to someone he met in a bar after his team lost by 40 in a meaningless game in january. I understand this seems crass but if the league wants to capitalize on its image it can turn this ridiculousness into an American Idol type effect. People voting on what woman is linked to what player.....Is this guy really the dad? with call in #'s where you pay to vote. Just a thought...

Dont Do it.............

Theres been alot of talk about taking the Magic to win the series at +550. Stay Away! If you have a position to hedge with Cleveland and want to lock in something than fine. Otherwise take a step back and realize that the NBA is not that far away from the WWE (Laker-Rockets series case in point). David Stern would just as soon pull a Tonya Harding on Dwight Howards right knee than to let Lebron James not make it to the finals. You really think the NBA wants to see more JJ Reddick and Stan Van Gundy? let alone on its biggest stage..........Tonights Pick Cleveland -8.5

Winning at the Game of Life.......

After celebrating a Yankee run line victory, I had the displeasure of watching my Lakers play blow up in my face. Its bad enough knowing that the common man in all his "members only jacket wearing" glory just kicked my ass but the fact that they won they game without covering the spread is disgraceful. Furthermore seeing Andrew Bynim and Lamar Odom dancing around as if they had anything to do with this win made me sick. Halfway through the 4th quarter I decided enough was enough and switched channels. The learning channel has this show about recently married midget couples. These people couldn't be more than 2"5 feet tall but each have more heart than the entire Lakers team combined- with the exception of Kobe Bryant. I will continue to pick baseball winners and get this NBA thing figured out tomorrow.

Nuggets everyone???

Just asked 10 of my dopey friends who they like tonight. 6 like Denver, 3 on L.A., and 1 is still drunk. Of those who like Denver this is the rationale: 1) Lakers are tired 2) Denver is "hitting stride" and 3) Chauncey Billups owns them (nevermind it was 5 yrs ago different team), and finally my FAVORITE 4) 6.5 is "alot of points". Denver makes too much sense.....Take the Lakers -6.5 tonight.
In baseball tonight take Yanks runline -135. If you are enough of a crackhead then lay the 3 hundo with CC and sweat you nuts off after every Oriole hit.

Never a Doubt........

For those of you with a life/job, you probably missed what I consider to be one of the greatest baseball games ever played. Yesterday's Dodgers-Mets 11 inning thriller in bound to be remembered as "an instant classic". If you cannot appreciate a meaningless monday night error filled game in May, you are obviously not a gamer and should not be on this blog. Tied at 2, the Mets scored the apparent go ahead run....but wait the dope forgot to touch 3rd base and was called out on appeal. Then in the bottom half of the inning 2 Mets outfielders collided and the Dodgers end of having the bases loaded with no outs. After a throwing error on a double play ball, the Dodgers finally scored to win in what might be the ugliest game ever played. Doesnt matter it was a win.
As for the "celebrity post" that was a flop as the Angels and Mariners combined to score 16 runs. That being said, it is rare for someone on Jwhip's level to post consecutive stinkbombs....Next post you would be well advised to take action. Back later with Tonights picks/thoughts on the NBA playoffs.....

Celebrity Post......

In an effort to help the cause, I have received a 5 star celebrity play from Boston's finest- Jwhip. For those of you who are new to my act, Jwhip is a celebrity handicapper who resides in Boston and has a following that is borderline fanatical. Despite having a family, Jwhip realizes the importance of giving the public what it wants and needs, even if that means pissing off his wife. Tonights play- Angels/Mariners under 8.5 . I cannot tell you the first thing about either team but that doesn't matter.

Dodgers........

This is pretty simple to me.....Mets are a streaky club (7-3 in last 10 games) and coming off loss. New pitcher going tonight and they are facing a pitcher who has owned them in the past(Randy Wolfe). The Dodgers play well at home and the Mets have nagging injuries (no Delgado, Reyes still uncertain). David Wright and the rest of the team have collectively responded to the wake up call issued by Omar Minaya. What does this all mean? Absolutely nothing. The Mets will lose this game tonight and all sports fans in New York will hear tomorrow is that the Mets need a "stud starter" and a "proven, gritty power hitter" who can come through in the clutch and provide leadership in the clubhouse. Tonights pick- Dodgers
