Taking Marquette +2.5 over Seton Hall today in college hoops. Seton Hall has played well at home, however the Golden Eagles are 4-0-1 in their last five road games against teams with winning records(tough Big East teams). Despite possessing offensive firepower, Seton Hall leaves alot to be desired on the defensive side of the ball. Couple that with the fact that the Pirates are 2-5 in their last seven games against the number and you have the makings of a Marquette victory. Another point of note: the road team has won four of the last five games in this series.
We are not even out of February yet and already the Mets are making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Often injured shortstop Jose Reyes has been talking to FBI agents regarding well known Canadian doctor, Anthony Galea. Dr. Galea is best known for his "blood spinning technique" which allows atheltes to recover much faster from injury. That is the good news. Now for the bad news, the "good doctor" has a checkered past to put it mildly and his assistant was charged with HGH possession as he was caught crossing the border into the US this past September. In any event, Mets fans everywhere can look forward to more off the field drama as we head into another Spring training season.

Classy Dames.....
After thoroughly enjoying the Cleveland Cavaliers beat down of the Celtics last night, in a game where I correctly predicted that the Celtics "old legs" would tire, I decided to get caught up on the world of Olympic sports. Since the only coverage I seem to stumble upon is the male figure skating competition (never understood it- if you can skate why the hell aren't you playing hockey?) and curling, it was nice to see the other events that took place earlier in the day. However, the biggest story of the day involved the celebration by the Canadian Female Hockey team after winning the gold medal.
After the television anchor segued with "brace yourselves for the scenes you are about to see", I was expecting some sort of X rated behavior from our randy tarts just north of the border. Instead, much to my chagrin, all I saw a group of women puffing on cigars and drinking booze. On the surface, a very ho hum series of events. That being said, with the on ice celebration lasting for more than an hour, I could certaintly see where the Olympic committee might not appreciate the attention. Rest assured if Propick Sports had been a part of the celebration committee, things would have been handled a lot differently.
With a lack of compelling matchups tonight, I am tempted to take the night of and regroup for tomorrow's big day of college hoops action. That being said, with over two feet of snow outside, why not release a total flyer in tonight's NBA action? Here we go. The Cavaliers are coming off a huge road win in Boston last night. More importantly, the Cavs had to battle back from a double digit 3rd period deficit before pulling away handily in the fourth period. While tonight's opponent, the Toronto Raptors are playing without their star player Chris Bosh, I still look for a tight game. With the Raptors catching 5.5 at home, I will release them based on principal alone.

Over.....
In honor of my getting last Night's Boston College-Virginia Tech total (under 134) call wrong, I have decided to take the over : 8 inches total snowfall accumulation in New York. Here is the big caveat, as long as there is 8 inches somewhere within the tri-state region, I win. While Virginia Tech only mustered sixty points last night, I misread the explosiveness of Boston College's offense. Despite struggling most of the season, BC decided last night was as good a time as any to open up a can of whoop ass. Glad I had the pleasure of being on the wrong side of that call.
After reading several concerned emails regarding NHL predictions, I want to assure all readers that Dream has been on hiatus due to the Olympics. Once the Olympics commence, Dream will be back to his old self, showering the fan base with winners on a weekly basis.
Tonight's action is very light in both the NBA and college hoops. As a result I am releasing the Cleveland Cavs -2 over the Celtics tonight as a "nothing else to do" play. What this means is that absolutely no thought has been put into this play. I looked at the game and went with my initial instinct. Boston is old and Celeveland needs a meaningful road victory. There you go......Cavs -2 over the Celtics tonight.

Wednesday Winner.............
After getting my proverbial grove on, in the form of a modest three game winning streak capped off with Georgetown last night, I am releasing yet another college hoops winner. On the surface, Virginia Tech vs. Boston College appears to be a mismatch. Virginia Tech, despite coming off a hard fought loss to Duke this past Sunday, is a formidable 21-5 on the year. Meanwhile, the Eagles of Boston College are having one of their worst seasons in recent memory, sporting a subpar 13-13 record.
While running through my statistical analysis, I was looking for something that would provide Boston College with a much needed edge. Other than a 9-6 home record, there is very little to suggest the Eagles can win this game. In the last five meetings between these teams at Boston College, Virginia Tech is 4-1 against the spread. However, in many of those contests, Boston College was a high single digit favorite. One trend that kept popping up was the Under. Based on recent data, there is strong reason to believe the under will come in tonight. Going with the under, 134, I am calling for a game in the low sixties. Consider the fact that Virginia Tech is coming off a tough loss and could be dealing with blizzard conditions tonight in Boston and you have a strong case for a weak offensive output from the Hokies. Furthermore, Boston College has looked abysmal at times this season offensively. Tonight's play.....BC-Virginia Tech Under 134.

Big Monday....
Tonight's marquee "Geenie of the lamp" play is the Connecticut Huskies +2.5 over West Virginia. I must first disclose how much this release pains me. As many of my rabid fan base know, I am as big a Robert "Huggy Bear" Huggins fan as there is. This man boasts a lifetime graduation rate somewhere along the lines of a David Hasselhoff breathalyzer test. While Huggy's best remembered for his Cincinnati Bearcat teams, fashionista's everywhere will remember Huggy best for his velour track suits and mock turtlenecks. While this West Virginia squad has the depth to make a run in the NCAA Tournament behind the coaching greatness of Huggy Bear, I expect a desperate UConn team to show up big tonight. With Calhoun trying to make sure this Husky team makes it into the tourney, a win tonight is imperative.
As if the Duke men's basketball team was looking for anymore of a reason for people to dislike them, they found yet another. First let's flashback to the 2004 NCAA men's final four contest against UConn. After blowing a big lead in the second half, Duke (Chris Duhon) unloads a meaningless 3 pointer at the buzzer from 60 feet out to assure the loss but backdoor cover. As someone who has mastered the "polish hedge" over the years, I had Duke at 8-1 to win it all and hedged by taking UConn -2 in the game. Thanks to the meaningless shot I lost on both plays.
I can only take minor solace in the fact that Duke has yet to return to the Final Four after that screw job they did on me six years ago.
Fast forward to last night's contest against Virginia Tech. After the line came in from 12.5 to 12, I still jumped on the Hokies and felt rather good with the lead ranging from 5 to 7 points with under two minutes left. However, with four seconds left in the game and Duke already up by nine, some stiff throws up a meaningless three and prison rapes me in the process. A push is understandable but an "oh by the way three pointer"with no time left and a big lead is a classless move. What I have grown to learn over the years is that coach K has matastacized into a phony. Word of advice to the Duke hoops team- you are slow, pasty white, and have a zero intimidation factor. Duke can pile it on against an average Virginia Tech team but remember the smackdown Georgetown put on the Blue Devils last month? Come March I expect more of the same from Coach K's "dead Poet society team" in the form of being awarded a number two seed in one of the brackets, followed by a loss in the sweet sixteen. In the meantime, Coach K can work on changing the name of the school from Duke University to College of Coach K.

Sunday Fun?
After watching the Denver Nuggets win a thriller in Cleveland the other night, I am convinced they are the clear number two seed out west. If there is any team that will be able to give the revamped Lakers any difficulty, it is the Nuggets. Furthermore, while the Trailblazers provided the mother of all heartless efforts against the Celtics the other night, I expect the Nuggets to present a far more difficult matchup today against the Celtics. My call Friday was predicated on Boston's core stars having trouble keeping up on a long west coast road trip. Unfortunately for team Propick, they jumped out to an early lead and tired legs never became an issue.
Today look for the Nuggets to easily cover the number-4/-4.5. As of this afternoon I have the line at -4.5. Lay the points and Take the Nuggets over the Celtics.
While it is early to start crowning an NBA finals Champion, take a shot on the Nuggets at 11-1. The Lakers and Cavs offer no value at 2-1 while the Magic appear to have taken a step back from last year and are only around 6-1.

I am Deeply Sorry......
Those of you who listened to the heartfelt apology from el Tigre might think I am alluding to his somber words as he addressed the media earlier this morning. However, I am issuing a mea culpa for the Georgetown release on behalf of Propick Sports. Despite a furious rally late in the game, this was a stinkfest throughout. After opening the game on a 13-2 run, the Cuse never looked back and Georgetown never held a lead at any point during this contest. As someone who has mastered the college hoops scene for the past decade, I take any loss quite seriously.
Tonight the Trailblazers are playing a Celtics team that is coming off an emotional win last night against the Lakers. Considering the age of the Celtics core players, back to back road games are not a good scenario for this team. Furthermore, the Blazers are 4-0 in their last four games against Eastern conference opponents and 8-2 in their last 10 home games against the spread. While the Celtics are a formidable road squad at 19-9 on the year, this is a "special situations" type of release. A long trip out west followed by a hard fought win over their bitter rivals last night will lead to a letdown. Tonight's play.......Trailblazers -3 over the Celtics.
Kudos to the often talked about Marxy for last night's ridiculous effort. I was not alive when Willis Reed limped back onto the court in the NBA Finals against the Lakers but it's hard to fathom a more impressive performance than the one put on by Marxy last night. After stressing about an early credit meeting before heading down to Florida for a marathon this weekend, Marxy managed to keep the engine running longer than most in their twenties, let alone mid thirties. As a reward for his dilligence and aggressive alcohol intake, he managed to hook up with one of the hottest twenty somethings this city has ever seen. That my friends is a job well done!

Hoya Paranoia.......
Despite there being a number of easier matchups to handicap tonight, I am releasing the big game. While I like Ole Miss -3.5 at home, the game which most people will be watching is Georgetown vs. Syracuse, 7pm est on ESPN. Ranked number five in the country, the 24-2 Orangeman have yet to lose a game on the road (6-0) on the year. Their opponent, the tenth ranked Hoyas are 11-2 at home, including impressive blowout victories over Villanova and Duke. In times like these, it is important to adhere to my disciplined approach, regardless of the outcome.
Usually in games such as this, my statistical trend analysis dictates a clear winner. Unfortunately, both teams have major trends on their side. Georgetown is 5-1 against the spread in their last 6 home games, while Cuse is 4-0 against the spread following a loss. In absence of any discernable trends, I am reverting to my favorite past time and entering the mind of the common man. Common man can be seen (68% of gaming public) wearing a Pearl Washington jersey and telling anyone who will listen that this is the Cuse' year. Without a doubt Syracuse has been the better team, after all they are 24-2. However, the trend has been to play the home teams in conference games. Considering how well the Hoyas have played at home this year, I will take them -2 over Syracuse tonight.
Tomorrow morning at 11am you can hear Tiger Woods address the media and his fans(hookers,etc.). In this prepared statement from his public relations camp, I expect Tiger to come across as quite contrite. Furthermore, since there will be no questions allowed, maybe we see Tiger feign a little emotion. While there is no chance of Tiger coming to tears (like Kobe), maybe he brings his wife out by his side with the hope diamond on her finger. Personally, I think it would be a nice touch for el Tigre to address the loss of corporate sponsorship and declare midway through his press conference: there will be a pay-per-view interview immediately following this sham at the low cost of $49.99 per household. Viva El Tigre!

Fat Tuesday........
After Searching far and wide I have finally found my Fat Tuesday special. Tonight's Depaul - Rutgers matchup is not for the faint of heart. In fact, unless you have a wager riding on the outcome of this putrid affair, there is absolutely no reason to watch a minute of this game. Thankfully I have done all the necessary prep work for this one and will look to continue my impressive college hoops winning streak.
At 8-16, Depaul is the worst team in the Big East Conference. However, Depaul has been more than competitive at home this season and are above .500 for the year (6-5). Conversely, Rutgers is a mediocre 13-12 on the season but winless at 0-7 thus far on the road. The theme across all major conferences this year has been to take the home dogs. There are more average teams in the Big Twelve, SEC, and Big Ten that have stellar records while playing on their home court. As for Depaul, they are by no means stellar but in sticking with the prevailing theme, I will take them with the 4 points over Rutgers tonight. The same people who saw Rutgers beat Georgetown less than a week ago are claiming this game will be a complete mismatch. Good luck following the masses. The Play Depaul +4 over Jersey state.
I would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to none other than the legendary Keith Gretzky. The somewhat less famous brother of Wayne (the Great one), Keith went through life known as "the OK one". At age 43, Keith has managed to avoid the pitfalls that come with being the sibling of a celebrity/icon. Unlike Frank Stallone, Keith never appeared to clamor for the limelight and until this morning, I was unaware of Keith's very existence. In any event, Keith provides a blueprint on how to successfully maintain a "low key" public image.

Just Say No.......
After crushing it yesterday thanks to my NCAA College Hoops Game of the Year Play, Georgia -2 over South Carolina, I decided to celebrate the only way I know how. Called Dream up and got center ice seats for today's Rangers game. While Dream had no feel on the game, he looked at me and muttered "we are taking the Rangers for five dimes. I don't goto games where I have no action. might as well be dead". I then asked Dream if it felt weird spending Valentine's day with me instead of his wife. After pondering my inquiry, Dream shook his head and said "you both annoy the crap out of me, now get me a grey goose straight up". With the Rangers currently leading 4-2, things are feeling pretty good right about now.
During the second period some poor dope got "the Gas face" from his girlfriend, in the form of a NO to his live marriage proposal. For this guy's sake I hope it was staged but judging by his reaction, this looked like a real rejection. While most people laughed and called this guy a LOSER, a few ladies behind me were feeling sympathetic towards him. At one point Dream turned around and suggested they console him. When one woman replied "Console him...how?
Dream looked in disgust and said bluntly "use your imagination I am sure you can come up with something". Details to follow......
For tonight's release I am taking UCLA +7 at USC. This is definitely an off year for the Bruins but this is a rivalry game. SC has no right laying 7 in this game and my proprietary model / trend analysis suggests this will be a close game. One drawback is the tipoff is not until 10pm so for all you guys out there.....do what you have to do early. Take the ball and chain out for an early dinner and "speed up the process" so you aren't combing the internet looking for updates on the game. For those of you in a less serious relationship, buy some flowers, walk over to your chick's apartment and feign an illness. Pretend to be sick as a dog then when she presses you tell her "I think it's best if I make this up to you another night". Then go to a sports bar and watch this thing in peace. Incidentally Valentine's night is a fantastic time for foul hooking some stray who finds herself without a date and watching a game at some dive bar next to a degenerate gambler.

Showtime......
The single Biggest College Basketball play in Propick sports history is about to be unleashed in the form of an "under the radar" SEC clash. Today's ca$h windfall comes courtesy of the Georgia Bulldogs -2 at home over South Carolina. This build up seems more appropriate for a college football game on an autumn saturday then it does a hoops contest between two subpar programs. However, based on my proprietary based math model along with my technical trend indicator that is beyond reproach, this game has home run written all over it. I believe it was grandpa Propick who coined the phrase "build it and they will come".
Despite being under .500 for the year (currently 10-12), Georgia is a strong home team and boasts a 9-3 home record while playing against a competitive Southeastern conference. Conversely, South Carolina is 14-9 but only 1-6 on the road thus far. As a result, South Carolina's record appears to be misleading. Another strong trend that favors Georgia is their 8-2 record against the spread vs. South Carolina in their past ten matchups. In their most recent contest just two weeks ago, Georgia blew a late lead at South Carolina in a closely contested game. This leads me to another fervent belief of mine: The Revenge Factor.
Without providing anymore of my bottoms up analysis I will release Georgia -2 over South Carolina as my College Basketball game of the year thus far.

What an Act.......
Finally got in touch with Dream who after a little R&R in Miami last week, decided it was his patriotic duty to hit the slopes of scenic Vancouver and catch some of the Olympics while he's at it. When asked why he was not in Dallas attending this years' NBA All-Star game, Dream curtly replied "didn't a few people die or get mauled when that thing was in Vegas a few years ago? In any event I have absolutely no interest in a meaningless exhibition game and even less interest in wearing a bullet proof vest through the streets of Dallas". That being said, Dream is a fan of Shaq for the simple reason that, like Dream himself, he has dominated his profession over the years in a way very few have.
As for his weekly NHL winner, Dream is releasing the Nashville Predators +150 over the Devils tonight in the Izod center. After winning only one of their last six games, the betting public is all aboard the Devils to bounce back in a big way tonight. The problem according to Dream, is that the Devils have shown no heart during this stretch. After failing to retaliate against the Flyer's Jeff Carter the other night, the Devil's appear to be lacking physical toughness in addition to their recent mental lapses.
On the other side of the spectrum, the Predators have won eight of their last ten games against the Eastern conference and more importantly have gone 4-1 in games where they were an underdog of +150 or more. This appears to be a great Value play courtesy of Dream.....Predators +150 over the Devils.

Storm Warning........
After having a foot and a half of snow dumped on the greater New York metropolitan area, Propick is releasing the college basketball equivalent, in the form of tonight's St. Johns vs. Louisville contest. While the Red Storm (still the Johnnies to me), have been abysmal this season and coach Norm Roberts looks like a lame duck coach, I absolutely love them catching 6.5 tonight at home.
Louisville has lost five of six road games this year while their opponents, the Red Storm are an impressive 7-3 at home. Listen, St. John's has played lousy teams and is coming off a bad loss to West Virginia where they got outscored by over thirty points in the second half this past Saturday. That being said, Louisville has had to deal with the weather and most likely just landed earlier this morning due to the blizzard. Although I do not think St. John's has a snowballs chance in hell of winning this game outright, I am recommending the Johnnies +6.5 as tonight's release..........
Louisville has lost five of six road games this year while their opponents, the Red Storm are an impressive 7-3 at home. Listen, St. John's has played lousy teams and is coming off a bad loss to West Virginia where they got outscored by over thirty points in the second half this past Saturday. Big Tuesday........
Expecting a dominant night on the hardwood tonight. Tuesday night's have traditionally been very good to me.
My first release is Wake Forest -5.5 over Boston College. Wake is an impressive 10-1 at home this year and 16-5 on the season. BC on the other hand is 12-11 on the year and under .500 on the road. Despite a valiant effort against a more talented Duke team on Saturday, I expect the Eagles to struggle tonight against a seasoned Deamon Deacon squad. Wake should win this one by double digits.
This second contest which tips of at 9pm est features two Big Ten powers. Michigan State -2 at home against Purdue. While Purdue sports an impressive 19-3 record on the year, the Spartans are a perfect 13-0 at home and are coming off a bad loss at Illinois. Izzo will have this Spartan team ready and the home crowd will serve as a huge edge as Michigan State looks to climb above the rest of the Big Ten conference with an impressive victory tonight.
Bonus/Opinion play. Vanderbilt -3 over Tennessee. Tennessee is loaded with talent but find themselves matched against a surprisingly good Vandy squad. Vandy is undefeated at home this year and Tennessee is more than capable of playing like a bunch of dopes- errant no look passes, forced shots, etc. As a result of not having seen enough of Vandy this year, I cannot put my official Propick seal of approval on this one but it falls under the "strong opinion" category.

Showtime.....
This is the single greatest day of the year. Ask any true gamer and they will echo my sentiments. Not one for small talk I am releasing my Play of the Decade, in the form of a public service announcement.
The AFC will win this years coin flip! Want to send your wife into a complete tizzy? Tell her "honey I just dropped ten dimes on an arbitrary flip of the coin". Then follow up with something subtle like "come halftime I'm taking a run at you". Of course, if the NFC manages to win the flip (highly unlikely), my advice is to seek shelter at a buddies place and lay low for the next few days.
After you crush it with the coin flip, focus on the Dream's first ever "Super Bowl Release". His play is the Colts -5 (up to 6 now in some venues). Dream is this generations Jimmy the Greek. As someone who has spent the past few days in Miami, he is as plugged into this game as anyone in the business.
Good Luck

On a Gravy Train with Biscuit Wheels......
Thanks to Dream (once again), for his NHL winner last night. At 12-3, Dream still believes "the best is yet to come". After speaking with Dream this morning, he is poised to release his biggest play of the Calendar year, in the form of tomorrow's Superbowl winner.
Despite not being in Miami for more than thirty-six hours, Dream has grown tired of the scene. While teeing it up yesterday with a few former NFL players, Dream got the sense that there has been a major sentiment shift regarding the outcome of tomorrow's game. Although the Colts are seen as the clear favorite, many former players, analysts, etc. are jumping on the Sants bandwagon. To quote Dream, "I love the story with the Saints and their city, but the Who dat crap has to stop. Everywhere I go- restuarants, bars, "adult venues", etc. some dope is yelling Who Dat".
As a result, Dream is releasing the Colts at -5 but thinks the line will come down to -4.5 or 4 by kickoff. More than a pure contrarian play, Dream is factoring in the way both teams ended their respective seasons. The Colts lost two games where they benched the starters, while the Saints played their best ball earlier in the year. The release: Colts -5.

Live From the Fontainebleau...
Just got a call from Dream who has arrived in Miami for the Superbowl. After trying to make small talk, Dream was having none of it. Furthermore, he explained to me that "just when I couldn't be any dumber, I release the AFC to win the coin flip". Still smarting from my assinine release, Dream told me to take down Friday's NHL release.
Despite a lackluster performance, the Washington Capitals were able to outscore the Rangers tonight 6-5 at the Garden. As a result of their pourous defense, Dream expects a far more spirited effort from the Capitals tomorrow night against Atlanta. Furthermore, Atlanta just dealt the best player in their franchise history. This one should be over in time for Dream to enjoy himself at a few "adult" Superbowl festivities. Take the Caps in a laugher!
As for Super Sunday, Dream is taking the under 56.5 for what should amount to a full year tuition at an Ivy league school. When asked why? Dream curtly replied- "Every dope they trot out on television and radio is predicting a 34-31 game".
Another prop bet I like is the longest run for Pierre Thomas -Under 13.5 yards. The Colts have defended the run well all year and its hard to fathom Pierre Thomas breaking one in the open field. Also take the Under 10.5 on first completion to marques Colston. Win or lose this one will be over early so you might as well entertain yourself in the process.

The Return of JDJ......
In an effort to revive the "buzz" surrounding former guest handicapper/donut inhaler, affectionately known as Jelly Donut Jenn, I had to search far and wide. Last night at a well known West Village Italian joint, I had the pleasure of catching up with JDJ. Much to my chagrin, JDJ abstained from eating desert. Don't get me wrong she did some number on the rest of the meal, however the self control exhibited come desert time, told me all I needed to know. With just a few days remaining between her and the Superbowl, JDJ was like a prize fighter preparing for the battle of their life. After witnessing the look in her eyes, I felt as if Ivan Drago was sitting across from me. Not so much as a smile out of JDJ.
Fast forward to this Sunday. In a first ever Propick Sports prop bet extravaganza I am offering the mother of all wagers. In an effort to incorporate two of my favorite guest handicappers, I have come up with the perfect head to head competition. It's Marxy vs. JDJ in a smackdown!
Marxy (total # of Beers) -6 vs. JDJ (total # of donuts/red velvet cupcakes) during the Superbowl. Originally this line was set at Marxy -4 before saavy gamers everywhere pounced on Marxy. In full disclosure, Marxy has a weekend trip to Boston for a reunion of sorts, followed by his Dad's birthday on Sunday. While some might summize a boozing "letdown" from Marxy, insiders are taking the other side. Smart $ is betting on Marxy to come out firing on all cylinders come Sunday at 6:40pm EST. Below are a few other prop plays....
Peyton Manning total completions -8 vs. Marxy total # of beers
Reggie bush total touches(rushing/receiving,etc.) -2.5 vs. JDJ # of Donuts/cupcakes
Total turnovers vs. # of remotes I break during the game (even $).

A Flip of the Coin......
In a effort to eradicate the awful stench left from last night's Pitt loss, I have recruited a pigskin legend to lead this horse to water. "Stinky", as he is known among a tight knit group of associates within the gaming community, has provided me with a Watershed Prop play. The opening coin flip appears to be a series of isolated events. Not so fast my friend. Stinky's analyzed the last thirteen Superbowls and has found that the NFC team has won all thirteen opening coin flips. (incidentally I had the NFC for a dime in the '97 Superbowl between the Packers and Pats). While statisticians and neophytes will argue that there is no way to justify playing such a ridiculous event, I beg to differ.
Stinky absolutely loves the AFC to get off the snide in a big way. In fact, of all the crackhead plays on the board this is his favorite. As someone with an impeccable track record, I recommend you heed his call and load up on the AFC. What could be better than shutting up some chooch neighbor as he is yapping about a ridiculous $10 office box pool than the words- "I just won a dime on the flip"? Enough said.
In addition to the AFC winning the flip, Stinky also likes Tails. Based on historical data, evidence suggests that "tails never fails". Be back later for more prop plays such as total combined yards by both teams vs. combined weight of Kirstie Allie and Rosie O'Donnell.

Wednesday.......
After thoroughly evaluating the West Virginia Mountaineers during these past few weeks, one thing has become clear. Despite possessing one of the coaching luminaries and cultural icons of our generation, this is a basketball team whose play has been on the decline. While there is enough talent to make a late season run, team "huggy bear" appears to have peaked too early. In recent games these guys have escaped with some narrow victories, most recently a last minute win at home over Louisville. That being said, at 17-3 the Mountaineers remain in the thick of things in an ultra competitive Big East Conference and sport an impressive 9-1 record at home.
Their opponent is a Pitt Panther team who despite being 16-5 on the season, is only 3-2 on the road. However, this is a gritty Pitt team that plays hard for the full forty minutes. I am expecting a hard fought game with the Mountaineers edging Pitt something along the lines of 66-60, due in large part to the coaching genius of Robert "Huggy Bear" Huggins. Tonights play......Take Pittsburgh with the 10 points to keep this game close.
Just a reminder with the Superbowl only four days away I will be releasing my highly anticipated Prop bets during the next few days. Stay tuned.....

Cowboy Up..........
In an effort to keep up a lifestyle I cannot afford, tonight's release will feature my first ever College Basketball 50 Dime play. Unlike the many charlatans who label their picks "Platinum, Gold, etc.", I cut to the chase and deal strictly in dollar denominations. The overwhelming theme throughout the past seven years in the Big 12 has been the dominance of the home dog. Whether it was Nebraska covering games at home against a dominant Kansas team or Colorado holding court against a superior Texas squad, the dogs have routinely barked in this conference.
With that being said, tonight's Texas -Oklahoma State matchup features a more talented Texas team only laying 2 on the road in Stillwater. With roughly 82% of the public backing Texas, I can hardly contain myself. Are 82 percent of the gaming public going to get rich tonight? Is the ZERO sitting at Brother Jimmie's with a kevin Durant jersey high fiving himself going to make a mint? After asking a few colleagues about tonight's game the concensus is: "there's no way Texas loses three straight games and after seeing Oklahoma State play Saturday against Mizzouri (a propick winner), they have no shot". Sounds like its time to Cowboy up....Oklahoma State +2 over Texas.
Not since the Hunt brothers' manipulation of the Silver market back in 1980 has such an aggressive gaming campaign been launched. This past Saturday I caught up with local celebrity Marxy as he was on his way back from his yacht club and hellbent on taking down every Superbowl box pool on the east side of Manhattan. At one establishment Marxy offered to buy the remaining 20 boxes at a "discount". Upon hearing this offer the bartender was slightly miffed so Marxy bought a few more at par and went on his way. Not to be lost in this whole box pool frenzy is the fact that Marxy kept his eye on the prize and found himself in the arms of a woman, who like Marxy, shared a passion for box pools, booze, and a whole lot more. Well done my friend, well done.
